New Year's Eve is the last chance you'll have to party in 2011. And as the days to plan out your big night begin to dwindle, MTV News is rounding up some of the biggest parties on the planet. From Los Angeles to New York, there's something for everyone. The Kardashians will be hosting several parties all over Las Vegas. Kim will be at Tao (for a fee of reportedly $600,000), Kourtney, along with the Madden Brothers, will party it up at Chateau Nightclub & Gardens at Paris while Rob has it on lock at Tryst.

Other big Sin City parties include Chris Brown's shindig at Pure, Mary J. Blige's bash at RPM Nightclub, Bruno Mars at The Bank and B.o.B at LAX (the club, not the airport). Fergie and will.i.am will both be in Vegas to ring in 2012. The Black Eyed Peas' leading lady will be at 1OAK, while will.i.am be DJing at Surrender. Professional party rockers LMFAO will be shufflin' all night long at Haze Nightclub at Aria. Newly engaged John Legend will perform at the Palms with T-Pain and Paul Oakenfold. As celeb-filled as it may seem, not all the stars will be in Vegas. In Los Angeles, Mario Lopez is hosting a party at Hollywood & Highland that boasts performances by Lupe Fiasco and Cobra Starship. And in Chicago, "American Idol" alum Lee DeWyze will be at the Hard Rock Hotel with DJ Chris Kennedy (Chris Masterson) spinning tunes. Kanye West's plans have yet to be determined, but he recently tweeted he's looking for a place to DJ right into 2012. We're sure someone will find a place for him at their party.

New York is the home of all things New Year's. Lady Gaga has been booked to perform on two NYE specials: the 40th annual "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" and the Japanese program "Kohaku Uta Gassen." For those who want to snuggle up on their couch and avoid all the partying madness, MTV has your back. This year Demi Lovato, Mac Miller, Selena Gomez, J. Cole, Jason Derulo and more will be on hand for "NYE in NYC 2012," which will air live at 11 p.m. ET on Saturday (December 31) from Times Square, where the famous ball drops on, you guessed it, MTV. What are your New Year's Eve plans? Let us know in the comments!

When Chevy finally launched the Volt plug-in hybrid electric car, they also kicked out an app with in-car communications and monitoring subsidiary OnStar to integrate owners' mobile phones with the vehicle. Similar to the MyFord Mobile app that Ford put out to integrate with their own Focus Electric, OnStar RemoteLink being shown off at CES 2012 hooks into the OnStar system onboard the vehicle, allowing the owner to remotely monitor the fuel levels, and in the case of the Volt, also check in on how the battery is charging, plus set off-peak charging schedule. RemoteLink also can plan routing on the phone and send it remotely to the car, saving you time the time of generally tedious address inputting when in the car. OnStar RemoteLink is available for both iPhone and Android phones and is compatible with most 2010-and-newer GM vehicles with OnStar.
But the app isn't the only thing OnStar had to show off at CES. Also on display was a new media system in their Volt show car that linked two Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets for backseat users with the car's Verizon LTE connection and the center stack up front. By integrating LTE with the power of the Android tablets, OnStar was able to build a system where the driver can pull up a movie from the home computer and stream it back to the tablets attached to the back of the front seats to placate a squad of rambunctious youngsters, start a Skype video call between the kids and grandma, or presumably just put up Angry Birds to keep them entranced in avian demolition for a few hours.

For those who love awards season, you are likely loving life this week since it's jam-packed with pretty people wearing pretty clothes. Within just five days, there are three major awards shows: last night's People's Choice Awards, the Critics' Choice Movie Awards on Thursday and the Golden Globes on Sunday.
The Critics' Choice Movie Awards air at 8 p.m. Thursday (January 12) on VH1. And since we're only hours away, it's time to evaluate the big categories and make some predictions about who will take home the pretty glass trophies. Since these awards are decided upon by movie critics, we're using the handy critic/review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes to determine which nominees have the best shot at winning.
Check out photos of all the hot stars who walked the red carpet!
Without further ado, here are our predictions for the major categories:
Best Supporting Actor: Albert Brooks will take this category no problem. "Drive" was a hit with critics, especially Brooks' performance. Its 93 percent fresh rating trumps the other nominees in the category, with the closest competition being Christopher Plummer in "Beginners" (84 percent fresh), Andy Serkis in "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" (83 percent fresh) and Kenneth Branagh for "My Week With Marilyn" (83 percent fresh).
Best Supporting Actress: Although Bérénice Bejo theoretically leads the pack for "The Artist" with overwhelming critical praise and 97 percent fresh rating, Melissa McCarthy's performance in "Bridesmaids" (90 percent fresh) is one of the most talked-about of the year. This one could very likely go to McCarthy, and we think it should, as great comedic performances don't get enough props. Shailene Woodley is the dark horse for her turn in "The Descendants" (88 percent fresh).
Best Actor: This category is a toughie, packed with A-list heavy-hitters who turned out six solid performances. Again, Jean Dujardin from "The Artist" has the edge by aggregate (97 percent fresh), but we're thinking it will come down to a bout between beloved real-life buddies George Clooney for "The Descendants" (88 percent fresh) and Brad Pitt for "Moneyball" (95 percent fresh).
Best Actress: Our aggregate strategy needs to be overlooked for this category, since the highest rating for the nominated films here is 88 percent fresh for Elizabeth Olsen in the lesser-known "Martha Marcy May Marlene." Even with award favorites Meryl Streep for "The Iron Lady" (56 percent fresh), Charlize Theron for "Young Adult" (79 percent fresh) and Tilda Swinton for "We Need to Talk About Kevin" (83 percent fresh), we think Viola Davis will take home the trophy for her work in "The Help," the film's 76 percent fresh rating notwithstanding since the highest praise for the film went to the acting by Davis and the rest of the ensemble cast.
Best Director: Another very tough call, given the nominations for Hollywood icons Martin Scorsese's "Hugo" (84 percent fresh) and Steven Speilberg's "War Horse" (78 percent fresh) and the continued love for Michel Hazanavicius' "The Artist" (97 percent fresh). We're going to go with Rotten Tomatoes on this one and predict that Hazanavicius will win. The film stands out among its competition for being shot completely in black and white, with no dialogue. Critics love the unique and daring approach Hazanavicius took in making the film.
Best Picture: Based on the fresh ratings for the films in this category, the front-runners here are "The Artist," "Hugo" and "Moneyball." Dark horses are "Drive" and "Midnight In Paris," both at 93 percent fresh. Really it comes down to the two films about film, "The Artist" and "Hugo." It's a decision between a unique, black-and-white silent picture and Martin Scorsese's first-ever foray into the family-friendly genre. How do you choose between such stellar nominees? We're going with "The Artist" and its crowd- and critic-pleasing 97 percent freshness.

From Britney and Jason to K-Stew and R-Pattz, we look back at the best high-profile pair-ups of the year.

From young love to established romantic empires, 2011 was all about PDA. Some of La La Land's most A-list couples weren't shy about flaunting the love they share. From musicians to actors to everyone in between, the last 12 months were all about sharing the love. As the year winds down, MTV News is reflecting on some of our favorite couples of the year.

Britney Spears and Jason Trawick
The couple walked red carpets, gave each other shout-outs at awards shows and even got naked together in Britney's "Criminal" video, but it wasn't until December that they decided to make it official. After two years of dating, Spears and Trawick took their relationship to the next level, with confirmation that Jason put a ring on it. The pair celebrated their love and their impending nuptials in Las Vegas. Their engagement sparked headlines and left Spears "glowing." Who is your top couple of 2011? Vote in our Newsroom poll! Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez
Summing up Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez's year into a little blurb isn't that easy. They went to events together, and Bieber lavishly rented the Staples Center just to watch "Titanic." And when they weren't chilling out, they were giving shine to each other's hard work. Or bringing each other gifts. Remember when Bieber showed Selena his pet snake, Johnson, at the VMAs? Yes, we knew you wouldn't forget. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson
The two "Twilight" stars seem poised to make our favorite couples lists for years to come. While in years past, they've remained under the radar, this year they came out of their shell and opened up about one another in interviews. Who could forget the time that K-Stew referred to her not-so-mysterious "English" boyfriend in an interview? We're assuming not R-Pattz.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z
OK, so Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been together for, like, an eternity, but it wasn't until this year that the pair really had everyone buzzing. When Beyoncé stepped out at the VMAs, her expanding midsection and flashy performance was the ultimate pregnancy announcement. Jay-Z didn't seem to mind all the attention. He celebrated the baby news in the audience with his pal Kanye West. Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose
Amber Rose rebounded from her relationship with Kanye West by falling in love with Wiz Khalifa. The couple took the world on their wild relationship ride, from doing interviews together to sparking rumors that they had tied the knot. These two kept everyone talking and they don't seem to mind the attention, or spending lots of time with one another. Did we forget your favorite couple of 2011? Let us know on Facebook!
