Pizza In a Jar Is a Horrible Fraud and You're Wrong if You Disagree [Food]

This dumb picture of tomato sauce, cheese, and scorched bread has been making the internet rounds, blobbing from blog to blog under the guise of "jar pizza." Pizza in a jar is a lie. It's not pizza. It's a delusion. More »

BattlePaint is an addictive geometric shooter game

battlepaint
In BattlePaint, you play a cube. In fact, you're not even a cube -- just a square. But boy, are you fast! And you can shoot in all directions. That's important, because there are baddies coming in from all over the place.

The "baddies" are swarms of other squares, in all sorts of pretty colors. They track you all over the screen, and you run around very quickly and just shoot, shoot, and shoot some more. If that doesn't sound very emotionally deep, it's because it isn't. But it's fun!

After you shoot a baddy, it splashes paint as it disappears. You need to skate across this blob of paint and "eat it up" to get points. This game is fast. It clocked in at around 60-70 FPS on my system, and was loads of fun to play. It does tend to insult you when you die, though, but don't be offended -- I don't think it's personal.

Get Patriotic to Every Presidential Campaign Song Since 1933 [Past Perfect]

Politics and pop music have a testy relationship. For every song supporting a particular politician or party, five more bash him, her, or it - and more still hate on the entire political system. Still, the relationship persists, and it's never more evident than during campaign seasons when candidates use music to connect with various stripes of voters and beef up their personal brands. Skype rolls out update for Windows with full HD video calling, group screen sharing

Skype rolled out its version 5.8 software update for Windows users today, and it brings with it a couple of fairly notable features. That includes full HD video calling (provided you have a suitable webcam and internet connection, of course), video calling to Facebook users (regardless of whether they have Skype installed or not), and group screen sharing, which will let folks share either their entire desktop or a single application with other participants on a conference call. That last feature is only available with Skype Premium, though. Other new features include a "push to talk" option that will let you set up a hotkey to trigger your microphone (for multiplayer gaming, for instance), the ability to hide offline Facebook contacts, and one possible fruit of the Microsoft acquisition: Bing toolbar integration.

Boomshine is a soothing-yet-frustrating time waster

boomshine
One click; just one single well-aimed click. That's all you get in Boomshine.

That single click triggers a chain reaction; circles start exploding, and other circles colliding with the shockwaves explode as well, creating their own shockwaves, which then catch other circles.

It's been done before, yes, but this one is a great iteration. The soundtrack is mellow, with lots of piano and some nice percussion (not electronic - it sounds like drums).

At each level you need to make a certain number of circles explode to go on to the next level. I got up to level 12, where you get 60 circles and need to make 55 of them explode. And then I kept trying and trying, but simply couldn't get it. I did get to 54 circles a couple of times, but as they say, you don't get points for trying.

There's no time limit, so you can carefully study the pattern of motion and place your click at the exact right place to create the best chain reaction. I've found that clicking near the middle of the screen works quite well, especially if the balls are slowly moving in that direction. By the time the first shockwave dies off, the oncoming balls usually hit it and the chain reaction continues.

What level did you reach? Screenshots please!

Katy Perry 3-D Concert Film In Works

Paramount proposes bringing over-the-top stage spectacle to big screen.

Katy Perry is in talks to bring Candyfornia to a Cineplex near you -- in 3-D.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount has reached out to the pop star's camp to do a documentary-style 3-D film a la the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber and "Glee" before her.

While the deal is still in its early stages, according to sources, both sides are excited by the prospect of bringing Perry's colorful, over-the-top stage spectacle to the big screen. Right now, sources added, it's a matter of working out the logistics for the potential film.

Perry is not currently on tour: She wrapped up her California Dreams trek less than two weeks ago in Manila, Philippines. So, how and when Perry would tape the concert portion of the film is up in the air. This wouldn't be her first foray on the big screen: She voiced Smurfette in 2011's "The Smurfs."

Regardless of what happens with the project, Perry does have a busy few months ahead of her. She is up for two Grammy Awards on February 12 and will re-release her successful Teenage Dream album March 13.

Dubbed Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, producer Tricky Stewart said he and Perry re-worked a TD leftover for the release. "This song is really special. It's called 'Dressing Up,' so it's going to be a big record, I think," he said. "It definitely fits. It's right there in what her sensibilities are as a musician and a songwriter. She doesn't change much. She has a very keen musical taste. It'll be really good."

In between projects, Perry has kept everyone guessing about her hair. Currently, it's a sparkling shade of turquoise, which her colorist, Rita Hazan, said really does her justice: "I felt like it's the perfect color for her because her eyes are blue and she has the perfect skin tone to be a really vibrant, really cool, intense blue," she explained to MTV News.
